Hi Everyone! I am here again with another application called storyjumper. This was presented by my friends Hüsna and Ayşenur in our lesson.  The site is used for creating a story and then a storybook. You can freely sign in and use the application.

Hello everyone!!! Today,  I am going to write about bubbl.us, a website that is basically used for creating mindmaps. We also presented it to our friends at school. You do not have to pay for it but you can do limited things if you do not pay money. You can also use it without registering but you can not save your works. If you really need it then register and pay for it then do whatever you want. Now, I am going to mention some things you can do by using bubbl.us:

There you see colourful bubbles. When you touch one you can add new bubbles named sibling bubble, sister bubble or child bubble.  You can print your work, too. For educational purposes, you can use bubbl.us for mainly brainstorming. Morover, you can classify things acording to their similarity, class or anything you want.

Hi!!!

Today I will introduce you a programme that enables you to learn other languages by using  mobile devices. There are many programmes and apps that help you learn a language on your own. Some of them focus on pronunciation, while others focus on grammar and also some of them, like Duolingo, focus on all the lingustic skills at the same time. So, It is one of my favourite apps for learning a new language.

 First of all, it is free. This means you can reach it without any effort. Just download it from play store or app store, then enter your mail address and enjoy the lessons. But do not forget to select which language do you want to learn:) 

There are levels throughout the lessons and upper levels unlock when you study your daily task. It involves listening, speaking, writing and inevitably reading skills. In a lesson,you practise all these skills and I strongly think it hepls you.

                 

There are also different categories related to daily need of the language and througout these lessons you learn what you need for communicating with others in an easy way and limited time

 

In this application, learners are always active; they produce sounds , write words, fill in the blanks, translate the sentences ad so on. By using this app, I think you can express yourself apprehensibly in a conversation. Does it sounds effective? If so, try it!!!

 Today, It is pretty hard for anyone to be away from technology, as it effects our lives in many ways.Even this blog is a benefit of technology. And today, I will introduce another technological tool for you; diigital storytelling. It is a way of conveying both the sound and the image spontaneously. Here is my adventure of digital storytelling process. Hope it would be efficient for you to understand the usage of DS.

 First of all, it is essential for us to have a program for it. We used "Animaker" with my friend Gülsüm. We chose it because there limited programmes that are free. Animaker is not completely free as there are limited things that can be used while preparing the video. Yet, we did it despite many challenges.  Animaker is an easy and handy program as it has all the thing one need while  making digital storytelling. There are avatars, background images, facial expressions and many other things that one can need. You wil just choose what you want and apply it on your video. But, you should plan your story step by step for not having trouble.

 İt is also important whom you will work with.  I worked with Gülsüm my classmate, and being in pair made us help each other. We tried doing our best although We both had no idea how to do at first. By searching and examining the program, we created a digital story told by us.
However, I do not know whether it is beneficial or not for students to do it on their own. As, it requires instruction from teachers. Unless teachers explain what to and how to do them clearly, students can not cope with it. So, teachers should be aware of the difficulty of this work and do what they have to. Otherwise, it will be a time-comsuming and boring activity for students...

"UsingEnglish" for learning English...

    Again mee:) But, today I am here with a new task: introducing a website teaching English.
  Today , English is the most learned language around the world and there are numerous ways for learning it. Online learning is one of the options but I am not sure if it is beneficial. Well, It depends on from which site we learn it. Usingenglish.com is one of the site that effects our learning positively. It is general English language site
, specialising in ESL with a wide range of resources for learners and teachers of English. Much of the site uses British English but there are contributors from other countries, too.
The main purpose of the site is to teach English effectively.The site contains activities like English tests, exams, articles and many more things. Actually, it is better for teacher as it provides source for them. Teachers can use these sources in their lessons and this makes them enrich their lessons.

For using the site, you must sign in it and you should explain why you will use it. Also, you have to define whether you are student or teacher so that it can give you right intructions about what to do.
 One points that I do not like about the site is it's  visual quality as there is nothing appealing to me when I first look at the home page. Everything has an order but not looking charming. Maybe background would be more colourful. But, this is not a big deal as the content is much more important.
When it comes to applying it in the classroom as a teacher, I would recommend it as it has many avtivities for teachers. They can use tests for testing the students or articles for reading comprehension and so on.
As a conclusion, this and these kind of sites are available in the internet and they can be used for learning and teaching activities in the classoom environments or at home. They assist us in many aspects and if we want to be memorable and "teacher" teachers we should find new and applicaple ways for teaching English and as our time requires, we have to be more technological and use these kinds of tools.

Hello again my dear followers!

Today, we are going to examine and use RSS(Really Simple Syndication), a tool used for delivering web contexts that regularly change. It helps us to stay informed about the blogs or web sites that we are interested in. Thanks to this app, you do not need to visit all the sites individually which means you can save time...

A variety of RSS readers are available for different platforms. Some are blogline, Google reader and so on. But today I chose Feedreader which has an easy use and access. The only thing to do is opening the main page of the site and signing via your e-mail adress. Then, you can add whomever or whatever you want to follow. 

Here is my screenshot showing the blogs I follow. As you see, I can see all blogs in one page. Among these blogs, the one I liked most is Burcu Akyol' s blog what is about teaching and I think it is helpful fo an ELT stuent, even for other teaching students because she is mainly writing about her experiences with students, her thoughts about life and so on. By following her I mean, we can learn a lot about classroom atmosphere or by reading sharings of an experienced teacher makes us improve ourselves until our teaching career. Also, teachers should follow this blog as they can learn new styles for their lessons or maybe It inspires them to write their own experiences or opinions.

          Hi everybody! New day and a new blog for you.Today, we used wiki page for a film review and the film we chose for reviewing was "Bride To  Terabithia". What made us chose it was it's theme that is suitable for all age. A teacher can recommend it to his\her students as there are important points about a child's life. We gave information about the movie in a different platform.
          For this issue, we used wiki page and if you are thinking about doing similar task, we will make you understand how to use it because it is suitable and easy one. So, we did not have much trouble with it. We did it with my friend Gülsüm. While gathering information, we kept in contact with each other. Then, one of us wrote on the wiki what we summarize together. When both side has equal responsibility the group work would be good. So, It was an effective group work for us.
          Like many other sites or programs, Wiki is an efficient site but it should be showed or instructed by teachers carefully. This means teachers should know how to use the tool and give instruction to students about what to do, how to do it. As, without any instruction, it would be hard for the students to understand it. Since,we are teachers not troublemakers :) 
 So what about trying this new site???

      In this task, We recorded a podcast with my friend Gülsüm. It was about an idea to change the world. For this issue we used vocaroo , an easy podcasting website. So, we did not have any difficulties with doing it.

        I think poscasting is beneficial for both students and teachers as students can practise on their own pronunciation. Also , they have a chance to hear their own voice and improve their speaking. Teachers can hear the student's voice, too. They can see the the students' level of speaking by listening podcasts that the students recorded. 

     Our podcast is for upper level students but If it is used accordingly there is no age limit for podcasting. The only point is that teachers should inform the students about what they will do, how they will do it and should direct them.

Hi! This is my first post for my blog and I am so appreciated because this is the first time that I have a chance to share my thoughts about or related to education with others. As being the teacher of future, it honours me and I thank Mrs. Dilek (my teacher) for her interesting teaching methods as she recommended that to us.
  Now, I would like to explain my aim of creating this blog: I am here because I must! As, technology is in everywhere and people always epose to it, especially the younger generation. Children use technological devices so much that they become their toys and they affect children's daily life, as a consequence, their learning. So, as being the teachers of future, we have to keep up with our students. Of course, if we really want to be effective and sufficient! Do you agree with technology?
